DESCRIPTION:The Longest Yarn 2 Britain at War exhibition is coming to Nothe Fort in July 2026!\n1 July – 24 August – EXTENDED DATES!\n\n\nFollowing the success of the original The Longest Yarn 80-metre depiction of the D-Day landings, this new exhibition continues the project’s mission of bringing history to life through large-scale, handcrafted textile art.\nCome and see this powerful 80-meter textile installation that explores the social history of the Second World War — learn how ordinary people coped, endured, and adapted during years of wartime hardship and change.\nThe exhibition also features life-sized, hand-crafted “Army of Duty Calls” figures, honouring those who served both at home and on the front lines.\n\n \n\n\n \nThe Longest Yarn 2 – Route Accessibility\n\nThe route around the Fort covers two levels – both accessible via lift.\nThere is only one room which is not accessible via mobility scooter, which has a step up into the room.\nA wheelchair will be provided in the room for anyone able to make the step up into the room.\nClick here for Route Map.  ( https://nothefort.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/The-Longest-Yarn-2-Visitor-Map.pdf )\n\nKnitted Mouse Hunt – perfect for kids! \n\n\n\nWant to get involved?\nBecome a Woolly Steward\n \n\n\nNothe Fort is also recruiting Woolly Stewards to support visitors during The Longest Yarn 2 exhibition in July.\nThe role includes welcoming visitors, supporting the exhibition space, and helping ensure a smooth experience.
