Other Information

Picnic Areas

Picnic areas are available complete with tables and benches situated over the Ramparts overlooking the entrance to Weymouth Harbour. This is a fantastic place to sit and relax and admire some of the finest views along Dorset's Jurassic Coast.

Facilities For Persons With Restricted Mobility

A modern lift has been installed to connect the three main levels of the Fort. Please note the dimensions for wheel chair access is 1150mm X 850mm. In addition ramps have been installed, however due to the nature of the Fort there are some areas where it has not been possible to install ramps and therefore small areas would be restricted to wheel chair users. We have fully compliant disabled toilets and all refreshment areas are accessible. Please note we have two wheelchairs available for visitors located in Reception.

We have no special prices for disabled visitors and endeavour to promote equal opportunities and fully recognise diversity from across the community. However we understand some members of the community require the assistance of carers to make their visit possible. Where this is the case we exercise discretion on entrance fees.

Dogs are welcome providing they are kept on a lead and supervised at all times.

There are Council operated car parks in Nothe Gardens. The Fort is just a short walking distance from these car parks.
