Recently, the Nothe Fort in Weymouth opened its doors to ASCape for a WWII event, especially created with sensory needs in mind. Here’s what one ASCaper, Emma Nicholson, made of the activity:
“As a parent of two children with ASD, going to attractions is always difficult to navigate, there’s often too much unknown, too many people, too much noise, it’s too crowded. The Nothe Fort staff removed the ‘too’s’ and replaced them with ‘can-do’s’, they turned the noise down in the main foyer, they removed the crowds by allowing us to go in before anyone else. Once again going to an ASCape organised event wasn’t stressful, it was a joy and we are so grateful. Thank you to the staff at the Nothe Fort and thank you to ASCape.”
Thanks to Emma for taking the time to share her experience with us and for the beautiful pictures of her daughter, Mylie, enjoying the event.
