See live firing demonstrations by the Nothe Fort Garrison The Dorsetshire Regiment – last demonstration of 2026

Witness the Nothe Fort Artillery in their splendid uniforms and displays including musketry and cannon firing drills.

Learn about the duties of the Garrison during the Victorian era and see the regiment in action.

Firing demonstrations will take place between 12pm and 3pm. 

Noise Levels and Ear Protection

Please be aware the cannon and musket firing can be quite loud. Ear defenders are available to borrow during the demonstration.
Nothe Fort Staff will be walking the Parade Ground offering them to visitors.

ADMISSION INFORMATION:

• This event is included in the price of admission and is FREE with an Annual Pass.

• Parking: parking is available outside the fort at Nothe Car Park (What3Words: mixed.stuck.serve)

• Seating Provided: – There are seats all around the Fort if required while on site.

• Food and Drink: The Fort View Café will be open for the duration of this event.

• Dogs: We are a dog-friendly museum. We ask that all dogs remain on short leads at all times. Please expect to see dogs in the Fort during your visit. 

• Wheelchair User Access: Nothe Fort is mostly wheelchair accessible and has a lift to all three levels.
