Nothe Fort proudly invites visitors to a FREE Eclipse Viewing Evening 🌒✨
Wednesday 12 August, 6:30pm – 8pm
FREE Entry – no ticket or Annual Pass required, but donations welcome!
Gather with friends and family to enjoy a stunning elevated view of the Solar Eclipse, including the surrounding vista of Weymouth Bay.

FREE entry, no tickets required. Gates open at 6:30pm.Entry is first come, first served and may be restricted if site capacity is reached.

Approx. 250 pairs of certified solar eclipse glasses available while stocks last.

Glasses will ONLY be available for visitors viewing the eclipse from Nothe Fort.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own certified eclipse glasses where possible.

If supplies become limited, priority may be given to children, and adults may be encouraged to take turns using eclipse glasses.

Eclipse begins 6:18pm | Maximum eclipse 7:14pm | Ends 8:06pm – plenty of time to view!

Use of Drones is NOT permitted. Please do not fly any drones over or around the Fort.
⚠️ Only view the eclipse with proper ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses. Ordinary sunglasses are not safe.
To safely experience the eclipse, attendees are strongly encouraged to wear certified eclipse glasses for eye protection throughout the event.
😎 Certified Solar Eclipse Glasses will be available to buy for £1 each while stocks last – this eclipse will be the closest the UK has been to total coverage of the sun for 27 years!
About this event
This event is outdoors in the Parade Ground and on the Ramparts for the best view – please dress appropriately for the weather conditions.

Parking: Audience parking is available outside the fort at Nothe Car Park (What3Words: mixed.stuck.serve)

Seating Provided: Yes, seating will be provided on Ramparts, though you may bring your own camping chairs for use in Parade Ground only. Shelter in Marquee is provided.

Food and Drink: Picnics allowed. Light refreshments available in our Picnic Pavilion. Cafe is NOT open. No Alcohol will be permitted to be brought on site.

Dogs: Welcome but please assess whether this event would be suitable for your pet. Disruptive dogs may be asked to leave.

Wheelchair User Access: The venue is wheelchair accessible via lift. If you have any access requirements before your visit, please contact Nothe Fort ahead of your visit (01305 766626).

Eclipse Information: Eclipse begins approx 6.18pm with maximum partial eclipse at 7.15pm. Eclipse Glasses will be on sale £1 each from Nothe Fort.
