VE Day Drama Showcase

VE Day Drama Showcase
Join us for VE Day commemorations on May 8th, as ScreenPLAY showcase part of a new audio drama about Homefront life during World War II.
Children of World War Two is an eight-part audio drama devised and recorded by children at four Dorset schools, inspired by true stories collected from local people in their 90s.
Students from St Mary’s Puddletown School will perform songs from their two episodes, Potato Pete and Shine on Victory Moon with musical accompaniment by Kathie Prince and Freya Murray.
Their episodes, A Special Dinner and Got any Gum Chum will premiere at a new listening post installation in the WW2 Kitchen at Nothe Fort.
The Children of WWII Launch Event – Tuesday 20th May
The Launch event will involve the three other schools involved in the project:
-
St John’s Primary
-
St Nicholas and St Lawrence Primary
-
Weymouth and Bovington Primary Academy
These three schools will launch the remaining six episodes at a launch event on Tuesday 20th May. The audio drama episodes will feature in new installations around Nothe Fort.
Details to follow.
